Software Developer - Enterprise products

RTX Enterprise product team is looking for a new embedded software developer/engineer.

The team will be building the next-generation RTX wireless audio access points - the successor to our current VoIP-DECT single and multicell base stations.

The base station products are installed and used on thousands of sites all over the globe ranging in size from single base installations to systems in the hundreds. The base station interfaces with a wide variety of peripherals devices ranging from other RTX portable products like low-end or ruggedized handsets, to wireless headsets and logistics tracking devices, but also to external network equipment and servers.

With all these different interfaces, software development tasks range from very simple configuration features, and protocol implementation to complex multi-system synchronization features and expanding the existing system to new business telephone systems (PBX’es).

We are looking for both specialists and generalists, also we offer the opportunity to mix your work across multiple domains, meaning you will be able to influence the domains you work with.

 

As part of the enterprise product team, you will be working with, responsible for, and included in the full life cycle management of your software, which includes:

  • Designing and doing the work breakdown and documenting the features
    • Developing following a test-driven approach that includes test specification, unit, and automated test development
  • Releasing the software to production and other projects
  • Sustaining and bug-fixing the software post-integration
  • Working well both as an individual contributor and as a team player

 

You’ll be part of a smaller team of 6 people working on the product platform, but you will also be working closely with multiple other teams integrating their deliveries into a final product.

 

 Qualifications: 

You embrace teamwork but can work independently. We expect you to be flexible and show high responsibility for your tasks. You must be methodical in the approach to problem solving and must focus on the quality of delivered results. We expect you to have:

  • In-depth experience with C/C++, additionally knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Experience working with and developing embedded platforms
  • Experience in designing, publishing, documenting, refactoring and analyzing API’s and general experience in security-aware development
  • Experience with test-driven development, software testing, and debugging (unit test/Google Test framework, auto test)
  • Experience with bug tracking (Jira or other)
  • Experience with source code management tools (Git or Mercurial)
  • Experience with different Network connected devices is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (Jenkins or similar build systems)
  • Embedded development experience in Linux or other embedded RTOS experience is a plus but is not a requirement
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related experience
