Director, Global Sourcing

Looking to play a key role using your sourcing prowess and strategic mindset in an international tech company?

RTX A/S is a leading provider of wireless solutions - a growing business driven by digitalization and the demand for mobility and secure transmission – and we are hoping to welcome our new Director for Global Sourcing soon.

Setting the sourcing direction

As Director for Global Sourcing, you’ll report directly to the COO and be responsible for handling the company’s end-to-end sourcing operations. You will use your solid market understanding to implement sourcing strategies for key categories and ensure that high quality products are procured at the best overall value.

Some of your key responsibilities will entail:

• Ensuring profitability in the entire lifecycle of sourcing and procurement. From planning and bid preparation to budget/forecasting, negotiation, invoicing and reporting. 
• Maintain and Develop product category strategies aligned with business needs, controlling a supply network capable of delivering the desired service levels and at competitive cost.  
• Developing collaborative long-term partnerships with suppliers and contractors to reduce costs and ensure suppliers are willing to invest in the partnership. 
• Communicating market development and trends to internal stakeholders and the RTX organization. 
• Drive cost improvements across the supply chain through continuous review and revision  

 You and your global team will work together to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s spending, supplying partnerships and new possibilities.

Your sourcing successes

A few points for you to navigate after in succeeding in this role within the first year would be:

• Taking ownership for the growth and progress of the RTX sourcing strategy
• Showcasing - with the right cost as a focus area - a good understanding of how sourcing & procurement works specifically at RTX
• Demonstrating that you can turn developmental work & projects into finished products

Your personality and background

We are not looking for any specific education or any specific number of years on your CV. However, a BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration are examples of relevant backgrounds.

Solid proven work experience within sourcing or procurement and experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies is a must, however.

Experience from the electronics industry and detailed knowledge about one or more component categories within this industry would be a great advantage.

We expect you to have strong stakeholder management, project management and leadership skills as well as the ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.

You can expect to travel 25-50 days per year, mainly to South East Asia.
