Lead Software Engineer

Do you want to shape the architecture of a cloud-native platform from the ground up — and lead the development of a scalable system managing thousands of connected devices?
Our RTX Cloud product team is looking for a new technical lead developer for our Cloud Service offering.
We are building a scalable, cloud-native platform to manage and monitor a large fleet of connected devices deployed across multiple customer environments. The platform is hosted primarily on AWS and leverages services like EC2, ECS, S3 etc. Communication with devices is done over MQTT. The system must be highly available, secure, and reliable. You will be part of a team developing the RTX Cloud platform. As the platform launch is still limited in features, you will be working closely with Product management and be able to influence features and design daily.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the RTX Cloud team, you will be working with and responsible for:
• Leading the team and leading by example
• Introducing and ensuring best practices and processes in the team
• Ensuring the system is secure, monitored and resilient
• Participate in code reviews and ensure quality is met
• Lead task planning and coordinating, reporting on KPIs
• Reporting on internal KPIs

Qualifications:
You thrive in a team environment but are also capable of working independently. We expect you to be flexible and take ownership of your tasks. You approach problem-solving methodically and maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

We expect you have:
• solid experience with NodeJS / React / Typescript / NestJS
• experience in building APIs and Micro Services
• experience in leading a team and/or technical projects
• a good understanding of good code practices
• experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
• excellent English written and oral documentation and communication skills
• a MS/BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related experience

It will be beneficial if you have
• experience with IoT, MQTT, Docker and AWS
• experience with security, vulnerabilities, and patching
• experience with software testing and debugging
• experience with bug tracking (Jira or other)
• experience with source code management tools (Git or Mercurial)
